Arjun Dhawan

Arjun Dhawan is Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Construction Company Limited. He plays a central role in setting the company’s strategic direction and overseeing the delivery of complex infrastructure projects of national significance.

Over a sixteen-year association with the HCC Group, Mr. Dhawan has held various senior leadership roles including Group Chief Executive Officer of the HCC Group, Delegate of the Board at Steiner AG and Chairman, HCC Concessions. In these positions, he guided the company through critical phases of change, with responsibility for core engineering and construction operations as well as the development and management of major infrastructure concessions under the Public–Private Partnership model.

Mr. Dhawan is actively engaged in global and national infrastructure dialogue. He serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Commission on Nature-Positive Cities and the Engineering & Construction Industry Strategy Officers Group. In India, he contributes to industry initiatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry and is a member of the Governing Council of the Construction Federation of India.

Earlier in his career, he worked in investment management and investment banking in India and the United States, including roles at Arya Capital Management in Mumbai, Trellus Management Company and Banc of America Securities in New York, and with the Leveraged Finance Groups of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Middlebury College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
